The Cult of Victor

The Cult of Victor isn't really a weirdo cult. It's a label I've attached to my current system of beliefs. If you share them, you belong to The Cult of Victor too!

1. There is stuff I know I don't believe in.

There are some religions out there that are all "Everything is valid" or "Any truth you want to believe in is true." This is not cult of Victor. If you believe in everything, you don't believe in the cult of Victor

2. I haven't found a system that matches 100% of my beliefs.

Maybe you're a Jehovah's Witness Christian. Except you believe that there is no Hell. Then you're not exactly a Jehovah's Witness, are you? What are you? Well, you belong to the cult of Victor (if you satisfy criteria #3 below)

3. Intellectual analysis is a componant of the quest to find a satisfactory belief system.

Why don't you believe in Hell? Well, if you think about it, God is loving, and a loving god wouldn't let people suffer for all eterninty. There, you just used your intellect, and you now belong to the cult of Victor.

History of the Cult of Victor

So I was raised as a Catholic. But I didn't really believe in it, just went through the motions and said the words to keep the parents satisfied. When I moved out on my own, I stopped doing any religious thing. Eventually, I realized I lacked a certain spiritual strength I saw in others. So I've been looking to develop that strength. Step 1 is to find a church to belong to. Easier said than done.

So The Cult of Victor is more of a system of beliefs in flux than a set way. If you're intellectually evaluating different faiths, you belong to The Cult of Victor. When you find one that calls to you, then you become a Satanist and stop being a part of my cult.
