Over the years I've amassed a bit of audio gear. (Both musical instruments and recording equipment.) (The height of my audio adventures involved auditioning for Now, I'm moving into video gear. Ten years ago, you could do great audio from home. Now you can do great video from home. So I'm taking advantage of the advance in technology to muck around with indie filmmaking.

I've done some shorts (including On the Lot and ) I'm gearing up for my first feature.

My first attempt was "Achilles to Arjuna." It was deliberately written for minimal resources: a lead actress, 2 houses and some restaraunts. Of course, there were supporting actors (and other locations), but if I couldn't get them, I could write around it. I had $10,000, and sought a producer to use those funds to obtain the required resources. I wasted $2000 because the producer coudln't find a satisfactory lead actress. (There were other issues as well.)

Lesson learned: It's tough finding a quality lead actress. It's also tough finding a producer who can turn $10,000 into a movie. So my next attempt isn't going to use those things. Instead of one lead actress, it will have an ensemble cast (four medium good people sharing the burden equally should be easier to find than one excellent actor.) Also, the entire movie will use resources I have on hand/can get easily. The movie will be set in my living room and in front of a green screen.

I'm not sure when I'll have time to make this movie. But it's there in the back of my mind....
