After starting up "The Mierkats" (my first band) and "About the Sparrow" (my second band), I'm mucking around with the idea of starting up a third (and final try at a) band.
This band will be called "Left to the Right Monkey"
The emphasis will be on:
1. The group dynamic. Basically, we're all going to have to trust each other. If we don't have this, the band is dead.
2. Having fun. That's why I'm doing this band. Not to make buh-loads of money, or to be famous, but just because I like making music. If you're hoping to make money or be famous, this band isn't for you. By having fun ourselves, the audience has fun, and that's what makes our band good.
3. Meta-pop. This is the kind of music we're going to make. The basic idea is "Let's mix all styles together and see what happens." In my experience, this has turned out suprisingly good, and I'd like to keep going with it. We're not an "artsy" or "experimental" band, we're a pop band interested in entertaining the audience. We do that by offereing something a bit different, but still easily accessible.
