"Left to the Right Monkey" is a new band currently searching for fun folks to fill out the group. (Rehearsals start this summer: Twice a week for 2 hrs.)
We play "meta-pop": Let's mix all styles of music (pop, rock, punk, blues, metal, country, folk, etc) and see what happens. We prefer great attitudes to show stoppingly impressive musical techniques!!!
Looking for:
1. Alto/soprano VOCALIST (who can maybe play a little rhythm guitar or who's willing to be shown how to play easy guitar/keyboard parts). Formal training/voice lessons are a big plus, but not required.
2. DRUMMER - a musician who can serve the song by playing a steady beat and expressive fills-- NOT a "show off" who must constantly display pyrotechnic percussive prowess.
All band mates must be willing to write lyrics (even if you think they'll suck, you gotta be at least willing to try)
NO EQUIPMENT OR EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!!
We've already got mics, a PA system, instruments, a drum set and a demo recording studio.
It's PERFECT if this is your first or second band (or you just like jamming with newbies.)
Only necessary qualifications:
1. You can work in a team. (Egotistical glory hogs need not reply)
2. You can trust the band leader's direction (Wannabe rebellious punks who flaunt all authority need not reply)
3. You're a cool person to hang with. (Snobby pretentious music purists need not reply) We're just doing this music thing to HAVE FUN!!!
