Welcome to The Darkwinner's homepage, wherein I share my creative endeavors and life stories. I'm also promoting the Darkwinner brand, and my instructional DVD series, The Darkwinner's "Almost Passing" Pharmacology..
Or you can about The rationale behind the Darkwinner identity.
The Darkwinner has a page of resources for medical students . Fascinating, I'm sure.
It started with The Darkwinner's "Almost Passing" Guide to Anatomy. I wanted to promote it by getting on the blooper reels of some reality TV shows.
I decided to audition for American Idol in 2006. Read about The Darkwinner's American Idol Adventures
I spent some time in Birmingham, and met a few "faux celebrities" who made it on the show. I'm guessing I met more folks who got on TV than almost any auditionee in the room. Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.
Here are my thoughts on how the delusional respond to reality TV auditions.
My analysis of producer's ethics code.
The Darkwinner is currently producing instructional DVDs for teaching medical school subjects. When I was taking med anatomy, I was disappointed with the "dry and boring" training materials. So I resolved to produce something for students, by students. My first DVD which will teach Anatomy via silly, dirty mnemonics to make anatomy fun and easy to learn. Check out my page(s) about The Darkwinner's "Almost Passing" to Anatomy. In the future, I will produce "Almost Passing" Guides for Epidemiology and Immunology.
The "Almost Passing" series is not designed to replace medical training, or prep you for the boards, or even present "high yield key concepts." It's designed to present the basics quickly and enjoyably. After you know the basics, you can pick up the rest from boring professors or in depth books. I know the "Almost Passing" series is NOT everything you need to know, but it is a good foundation of the stuff you need to understand before tackling the boring detailed stuff.
More Yakko's World I wrote additional verses to "Yakko's world" to include countries that were initially left out.
Yes, I'm a bit of a geek. For example, only geeks would make up language from scratch. But hey, it's what I do, and I'm hoping to find other enthusiasts to help with the project.
Left to the Right Monkey was a band I tried starting up around summer 2005. Here's a timeline of the band's history.
Here's a bunch of stuff about the audition process. If you're thinking of starting up a band and are interested in seeing how I did things (so you can get idea of what you may or may not want to do), read about the audition process.
The band ended when the fourth incarnation dissolved. It was hard to keep a group of "just for fun" individuals together for longer than a month (and when one quit, the others got discouraged and wanted to quit as well.) Ah well, it was a fun learning experince for me.
Here's my old homepage. Information about me and my perspectives. It's here for those curious about me, or are that want to learn that sort of thing.
