First is the full demo song of "John" by Caitlin. It's got an angry chic punk feel.
John (mp3)
Next are some snippets from the demo. Unfortunately, I don't have enough webspace to put up everything I'd like for download. So I'm posting song snippets to give you a feel for the "flavor" of the song.
Old Times (mp3): "Old Times" was written by the Darkwinner, it's got an oldies rock 'n roll feel to it.
Promise Ring (mp3) "Promise Ring" was co-written by Caitlin and the Darkwinner. It's more melodic/romantic.
If you hate how the songs sound, that's okay, the band will keep changing/maturing. If you like how they sound, e-mail darkwinner at darkwinner daught com and you can join our fan list!
Below are snippets from my first two bands. I wrote "California" back when I was 16. In addition to me, the first (Mierkat) rendition has a country singer, a punk drummer, and classic rock guitarist and bassist. The second (About the Sparrow) Rendition has a classical singer and drummer, punk drummer, and a classical violinist who I put on bass guitar. If you listen, you can hear how each of their backgrounds influences the same song.

A couple years ago, I recorded Jennifer Rae singing over a Karaoke track. She needed a Christmas present for her family, I needed recording experience, and thus was a project born. I think she sings well. The 4 vocalists on this page (sopranos: Jennifer Rae, Caitlin in LttRM, About the Sparrow, or the contralto from the Mierkats) have that something I look for. The best I can describe it is they sing on pitch and rhythm, but they do it with emotion. If you can find any other common denominators from these various musical styles, let me know, I'd be fascinated to hear about it.
